Newborn baby portraits from King of Prussia Doulas

As a mom of 3 and a Philadelphia newborn photographer, I know how important having a positive birth experience can be for expecting parents.  This experience is one of the most exciting times in life, but it can also bring anxiety for some people.  It helps to have an advocate, like a doula during birth to help reduce the anxieties and the unknowns for what labor and birth can bring.  I recently did a question and answer session with King of Prussia Doulas LLC to get a little more information on how they can help expecting parents bring their new babies into this world.  Check it out below! What advice do you have for expecting/new parents?

At King of Prussia Doulas (KOPD), we want you to have the birth experience and postpartum period that you have dreamed of. Having a baby, or adopting a baby is a wonderful, special, and stressful life-changing event that happens in your life. We offer many services to give you the tools to be able to advocate for yourself with support, and to be the best parents you can be as you go through your birth and postpartum journey. Having a knowledgeable, compassionate, and supportive doula by your side will enhance your birth and postpartum experience. The reason I became a doula in 2015 and opened King of Prussia Doulas in 2017 was because I didn’t have the birth experience that I envisioned with my first baby. I knew that I had to do something to help families become educated, build confidence, and empower them to get the experiences they want to have, and provide the support they need in early parenting. My advice is to believe in yourself, educate yourself, and empower yourself. The first thing babies teach us is that we are not in control but feeling like you understand what is happening can allow you to flow with the changes and unexpected challenges. Just know that KOPD is here to support you every step of the way.

What is unique about what you offer expecting/new parents?

We offer a multitude of services and support. This ranges from the prenatal through the postpartum periods for new parents and families. Another thing that makes our company unique is that our birth support teams have two doulas instead of one. Having multiple doulas helps to ensure that someone is available for birthdays! We also check in with families throughout the first year of their baby’s birth. Our goals is to see how they are doing and offer any support so no one feels alone. KOPD is always a phone call away with extra support parents may need throughout the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum periods. Our birth and postpartum classes are great tools to help parents feel knowledgeable and prepared for what is to come with the birth of their new baby. All of our services and classes are offered virtually, or in person.

Are there any other special things about you or your business that you’d love to share?

As a unique gift for expecting parents/families, we offer gift certificates that can be used for services. Including birth support, postpartum support, classes, or placenta encapsulation. Your expecting friend or family member will thank you tremendously for the extra support your gift offers. KOPD recommends that you take some time to check out client love we have received on our website, or Google. We would be honored for you to join our KOPD family, an support you throughout one of life’s true miracles. We hope that no matter what route you take that you attain the experience that you want.
